Anthony Buzzeo enters his fourth year as Assistant Coach in 2024. "I’m eager to continue to learn on and off the field under Coach Bosgraf," Buzzeo said. "He’s already taught me a ton, so I’m excited to continue to work with him and develop my coaching skills. I believe there’s much more to achieve at Covenant. We have ambitious goals and have just gotten started!"

No stranger to Lookout Mountain, Buzzeo played four years with the Scots between 2016-19 and appeared in 66 matches during his tenure. Buzzeo served a season as the assistant men's soccer coach at Howard Payne University before returning to the mountain in 2021. Since his return, he has assisted Coach Bosgraf in reaching new levels of success at Covenant. Buzzeo has helped the Scots be named conference champions for three consecutive years, win their first NCAA Division III Tournament game, and achieve the ranking of #23 in the nation in 2022.

"I'm excited to be home at Covenant College! This school and program has given so much to me and I’m ready to give back," said Buzzeo at the time of his hiring. “Coach Bosgraf and I are aligned in our vision of growing this program into a national title contender on the field and building solid Christian men equipped for success off the field.”

"I am thrilled to have Anthony join the men's soccer coaching staff. As a former player at Covenant, Anthony is very familiar with our program and culture and will have an immediate impact on and off the field for us," added Bosgraf. "Anthony is a true student of the game and has a passion for player development, which will pay dividends as we strive to reach our potential. I am very thankful God has brought Anthony back to Covenant and look forward to watching him use his gifts to further Christ's kingdom through soccer."

In his playing career at Covenant, Buzzeo tallied 11 goals and three assists while making 26 starts for the Scots. He was a USA South All-Academic team selection in 2018-19 and helped the Scots to a USA South West Division regular season title in 2019 after a perfect 13-0-0 conference season.

Buzzeo earned his bachelor's degree in Sport Management from Covenant in 2020 and obtained an M.Ed in Sports and Wellness Leadership from Howard Payne in 2023.

"My coaching style tends to be more relational and servant-minded which fits the holistic development desired by Covenant Athletics," continued Buzzeo. "I’m excited to be able to help my players grow on the field in their technical, tactical, and physical abilities as well as off the field in their spiritual, academic, and everyday lives. I believe that my calling is to be positively impactful on athletes and help them reach their potential as people and players.”

Anthony and his wife Kailey got married in July of this summer. They have a dog named Roger and a cat named Tiny.
