Bouton comes to Covenant after a successful College Baseball career at Columbus State and Kennesaw State. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2023 at Columbus State before earning a Graduate Certificate of Digital and Social Media at Kennesaw State a few months ago.
"I am thrilled to have Isaac join our staff and become a part of the Covenant Scots Baseball family. He had a great career playing at Columbus State University and Kennesaw State University," Simons said. "Isaac brings some youthful energy that our players will love. He is passionate about investing in the student-athletes on and off the field. Most of all, he is a follower of Christ, who is dedicated to our vision and philosophy as a program."
"We are thrilled to add Isaac to our baseball staff," Director of Athletics John Hirte said. " He brings a high-level of playing experience and knowledge of the game, along with a heart and passion for using the sport of baseball to impact lives for Christ."
On the diamond at Kennesaw State, Bouton was an impact player in just one season at the Division I level. He led the Owls in Home Runs (12), RBIs (47), and Doubles (16). This earned him a spot on the All-Atlantic Sun Second Team.Â
As a team, the Owls had a successful year, going 32-24 with a notable series win at No. 25 Kentucky, who ended up being a national seed in the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the College World Series later in the year. In the postseason, Kennesaw State won three games in the Atlantic Sun Tournament before falling to Stetson in the Championship game.Â
While at Kennesaw State, Bouton helped the coaching staff with organizing practices, developing game strategies, and analyzing opponents strength and weaknesses. He also coached weekly baseball camps for Dunwoody Senior Baseball for high school players in the offseason.
Bouton played four seasons at Columbus State and was a standout player for the Cougars. In 2021, he batted .347 with 50 RBIs and was named a First Team All-American by the NCBWA. He was also named an All-American by the D2CCA (Second Team) and the ABCA (Third Team).
Bouton was also a three-time All-Peach Belt player, two-time All-Region Player, and was Peach Belt Freshman of the Year in 2021.Â
During his time at Columbus State, Bouton won two Peach Belt Conference Tournament Championships and advanced to the NCAA Division II National Tournament three times. In 2022, the Cougars went 46-13 and made it to the NCAA Southeast Super Regional before losing to eventual National Champions, North Greenville.Â
