Aaron Spragg was named the full-time assistant for head coach Doug Simons in July 2022. The 2023 season will be Spragg's first with the Scots.
Spragg comes to Covenant after spending two years as the head coach at Harding Academy in Memphis, Tenn. At Harding, Spragg led the program to its first postseason win in five years.Â
"My family and I are very excited to be joining the Covenant community," said Spragg. "I would like to thank Coach Simons, John Hirte, and the athletic leadership staff for giving me the opportunity to join this special place. My family and I look forward to investing in this community in the years to come. I hope to continue to build on the strong tradition of discipling and developing baseball players at Covenant College."
Prior to Harding Academy, Spragg was an assistant coach at Freed-Hardeman University for one season and at Lipscomb Academy for one year. Spragg was a three-year player at Lipscomb (2011-13).
Spragg is the older brother of former Covenant men's basketball player Bailey Spragg '19. The older Spragg graduated from Lipscomb in 2014 with a degree in business administration before earning a master's degree in 2016 in the same area of study.
