Threw three innings and recorded the victory in Covenant's extra-inning win over LaGrange (Feb. 27)... All three saves came in the final month of the season against Huntingdon (April 2), Piedmont (April 7) and at Methodist (April 23)... In final outing of career, tossed three innings allowing one run on two hits in a Covenant win at Methodist (April 23)... Ends career as the program record holder for most appearances with 65, and second in saves with eight... Went 10-12 with a 4.84 ERA in 127 innings
2015 (RS-Junior): Appeared in 18 games, making two starts... Earned a save in his first two appearances, throwing 1.1. scoreless innings in the process... Was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week on Feb. 17 after compiling three scoreless outings with four strikeouts and one hit over five innings... Picked up the win after tossing the final 3.2 innings in relief in Covenant's 2-1 extra-inning victory over Methodist (Feb. 13)... Went a career-high 6.2 innings, all in relief, and allowed one earned run in a 14-inning loss at Piedmont (Feb. 21)... Threw 35.1 innings on the year with 20 strikeouts
2014 (Junior): Sat out the season due to an injury and took a medical redshirt
2013 (Sophomore): Pitched in 18 games and made two starts… Compiled a 5-4 record with one save, while throwing 40.1 innings… Made his first start at Maryville (April 2) and went five innings allowing one run on three hits and picked up the victory.
2012 (Freshman): Appeared in 14 games, all as a reliever… Went 2-1 with one save and a 2.25 ERA in 24 innings of work… Longest outing of the season came against Maryville (April 7) where he went 3.1 innings and surrendered one run on three hits to pick up his second victory of the year.
High School: Attended Westminster Christian Academy… Was a member of the 2011 Missouri state champion team… Also played travel ball for the Ballwin Legion Baseball Post 611.
Personal: Parents are Tom and Sue Mitchell… He and his wife, Emily, were married on July 25, 2015... Has two brothers, Ben and Jake… Favorite Bible verse is Psalm 91:1… Majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies… Aspires to be a salesman in the field of pharmaceuticals or medical devices and perhaps own a business.
