2014 (Junior): Played and started in all 41 games... Led the team, and was fifth in the USA South, in batting with a .361 average... Named to the USA South All-Conference second team... Was second on the team in doubles with 16 to go along with 30 RBIs... Led the team with 19 multi-hit games, including two four-hit contests... Had eight multi-RBI games... Produced the game-winning single in the bottom of the ninth of Covenant's 4-3 win over Piedmont (March 14)... Committed just two errors at first base in 379 total chances... Pitched in three games and did not allow a run in four innings of work... Picked up a save after throwing one scoreless inning in a 10-8 win over Bates (Feb. 18)... Earned USA South All-Academic honors
Summer 2013: Played in the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) for the Niagara Power... Named to the midseason All-Star game... Batted. 315 with a home run and 14 RBIs for the summer.
2013 (Sophomore): NCCAA Mid-East All-Region selection… Played and started all 47 games… Led the team in batting average at .359 with two home runs and 38 RBIs… Produced 16 extra-base hits with 11 doubles, three triples and two home runs… Led the team on on-base percentage at .449 and in walks with 25… Tied the school record with six RBIs in a 15-3 win against Tennessee Temple (April 5)… Stole 16 bases on 19 attempts… Tallied 16 multi-hit games and nine multi-RBI games.
2012 (Freshman): Named to the GSAC All-Freshman team and NCCAA Mid-East All-Region honorable mention… Started and played in all 44 games and batted. 314… Led the team with 36 RBIs and had 11 extra-base hits, including 10 doubles and a home run… Led the team with 28 walks… Had nine multi-hit and multi RBI games and had at least three RBIs in a game five times… Went 3-for-3 with five RBIs at Huntingdon (March 17).
High School: Attended Milton High School… Was a scholar athlete in 2010 and 2011… Won the Steel Spike Award in 2011… Earned a Georgia Dugout Club Outstanding Season Award after senior year in 2011.
Personal: Born October 21, 1992 in Cincinnati, Ohio… Parents are Mark and Susan Gillespie… Has a brother, Danny… His father, Mark, played baseball at Evansville University and his brother, Danny, played baseball at LaGrange College in 2010… Favorite bible verse is Psalm 37:4… Majoring in Biology… Aspires to be an orthopedic doctor.
