DALTON, Ga. -- On Saturday night, the Scots raced their depth squads at Dalton State's Saturday Night Lights meet. Seven men and five women posted times for the Scots, putting up solid performances against other teams' top runners.Â
On the men's side, sophomore Grayson Lines (14th) led the way to a 4th place team finish with a personal record time of 29:43 for the eight kilometer race. Freshman Ken Foos (17th) was the second runner in for the Scots in his 8k debut with a time of 30:16.
Jack Woodham (23rd 30:52), David Nicolau (26th 31:09), Jacob Howington (30th 31:38), Andor Agustsson (31st 31:44), and Silas Crowe (32nd 31:51) all assisted in sealing the 4th place team finish and an early season win against conference opponent LaGrange. This was also Nicolau and Crowe's debuts in the 8k.
The women placed 6th of 9 teams, led by senior Claire Mellott (22nd), who put up a season best time of 27:27 in the six kilometer. Freshman Hanna Forrest (23rd) set a new personal best of 27:29, taking over a minute off of her previous best.
Freshmen Penelope Bosma (31st 28:17) and Cora Zecher (32nd 28:19) also had personal records in their second 6k, while Abbie Apicella (34th 28:32) rounded out the scorers for the Scots showing the incredible depth the team has this season.Â

On Friday, the athletes who did not race at Dalton will travel to Huntsville, Ala. to compete at the Southern Showcase, hosted by Jacksonville State.Â
