ATLANTA, Ga. -- Covenant baseball fell in their midweek contest against Oglethorpe on Tuesday evening, 5-1, at Hermance Stadium in Atlanta.
Daniel Counts kept up his hot hitting with a 2-for-4 showing, driving in a run, while
Roby McClarnon added a hit and a run scored.
Covenant was the first to strike in this contest, as Counts singled in McClarnon in the top of the first inning to make it 1-0.Â
The Stormy Petrels would answer, though, with a run in the bottom of the first to tie it at one.
Austin Molsberger then held down the fort for the next two innings in relief, but Oglethorpe would eventually break through again in the fourth with a solo homer to go back up 2-1.
The Stormy Petrels would tack on three more runs between the fifth, seventh and eighth innings to pull away late, as the Scots could not formulate a substantial rally the rest of the way.
Trey Kinnan and Ryan causey had multi-hit games for Oglethorpe, while starter Dylan Quintilio (2-2) earned the win bahind six one-run frames.
Aidan Suitor (0-1) was handed the loss.
