ORLANDO, Fla. -- Covenant women's tennis concluded their Orlando trip with a 5-2 loss against Moravian on Wednesday morning.
Maisie Tanchanpongs and
Ora Hall were the victors for the Scots during the match, as Tanchanpongs won 6-3, 6-7, 10-3 over Zolotareva at No. 1 singles and Hall defeated Gower 6-1, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.
In doubles, Tanchanpongs and
Estee Verdery could not overcome Szmodis and Zolotareva at No. 1 doubles, losing 7-5, while
Christina English and
Katie Cummings lost to Balko and Smith 6-1 at No. 2 doubles. However,
Landry McKinney and Hall dominated at No. 3 doubles, sweeping Gower and Schlottman 6-0.
In other singles results, Szmodis overcame Verdery 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, McKinney fell to Smith 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3, Cummings was upended by Shifman 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4, and English fell to Balko 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5.
