NEW ORLEANS, La. – On October 6th, 2026, Covenant College women's cross country broke into the USTFCCCA's South Region rankings for the first time since 2021, marking the first time in program history that both the men and women's teams have been regionally ranked simultaneously.
The women now rank No. 9 following a strong performance over the weekend at the Mountain Goat Invitational hosted by Sewanee University, where they placed 2nd, beating the previous No. 9 Berry and coming within 10 points of No. 4 Rhodes.
This is the first time since 2021 that the women have been regionally ranked, and only the third time in program history. Additionally, this is the first time the women have been regionally ranked under fifth year head coach Eli Kaczinski. Historically, the highest placement the Scots have ever achieved at the regional level was ninth in 2018.
Meanwhile, the men stayed at No. 9 this week following some movement from other teams around them. This is the fourth week in a row the men's program has been regionally ranked, the longest streak in program history.
Covenant cross country returns to action on October 17th at the Berry College XC Meeting and the Oberlin Interregional Rumble.
