LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Covenant women's soccer fell to No. 21 Emory, 8-0, at Scotland Yard on Tuesday evening.
Bronwyn Kickasola,
Maggie Jamison, and
Grace Topper combined for seven saves in the match, with Topper's three being the first three of her career. Freshman
Emmy Ewell also recorded her first collegiate minutes, playing seven.
Kickasola started the match and had to be on her toes early, as she made a save just 1:47 in and got some help from her defenders with a team save at the 2:17 mark. The Eagles (7-1-3) then got one to go, as Katie Hungness scored at the 3:35 mark, and then just 5:50 later, Kaitlyn Nimmer added a second to make it 2-0.
Hungness added her second in the 21st minute to make it 3-0, and then Alexandra Burtis-Wyant added a fourth in the 29th minute. Zia Tomlin concluded the scoring for Emory's first half in the 38th minute, and then Kickasola added a pair of saves to finish out the half.
The Eagles concluded their scoring by the 57th minute, as Sophia Cho, Sophia Asiain, and Jaymie Frith notched goals.
Late in the match, the freshman keepers made their marks, as Jamison saved a shot in the 70th minute, and Topper made an impressive first career save in the 84th minute. She would add two more to close her 13:53 of play with a trio of saves.
Georgie Strawbridge and
Elle Cherry combined for the Scots' (3-4-2) shots on goal.

The Scots resume CCS play on Saturday when they travel to Decatur to take on Agnes Scott at 2 p.m.
