LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant opened the Coca-Cola Invitational with what is likely to be its biggest challenge of the weekend, taking on Transylvania. That being said, the Pioneers weathered a great crowd inside Barnes P.E. Center to earn the 3-0 win over the Scots.Â

FIRST SET:
- Covenant looked solid midway through the set as a 5-0 run, which included kills by Cali Sandhoff and Kennedy Barber put it ahead 13-10.Â
- Not so long afterwards, a 9-0 run capped off by three service aces for Transy flipped the script putting it in front 21-14.Â
- The Scots fought back to get within three points, however a kill by the Pioneers finished the set at 25-21.
SECOND SET:
- Transy started the set on the right foot, moving ahead 8-4 with the help of four attack errors by Covenant.Â
- Later in the set, a 7-0 Pioneers run pushed their lead to 15-6.
- Covenant kept battling, however back-to-back kills by Transy ended the set at 25-19.
THIRD SET:Â
- Transy raced out to a 4-0 lead assisted by three kills and did not look back.Â
- Covenant was back within two points at 12-10, however Transy scored the next five points to extend its lead up to seven.Â
- The Pioneers scored six of the last seven points of the set to win 25-16, its largest set win of the night.Â
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant moves to 1-6 all-time against Transylvania.Â
- Transy had the upper hand in kills at 36-27.
- Barber led the Covenant attack with a career-high nine kills. She also tallied five digs.Â
- Sarah Jennings made her season debut, playing sporadically across the night, posting four digs.Â
- Sandhoff led Covenant in assists with 14.Â
