ATLANTA, Ga. - The Collegiate Conference of the South released its weekly award winners for Men's and Women's Cross Country on Tuesday afternoon with a Covenant student-athlete winning all four awards given out. This comes after the women's team won first place while the men's team placed second in the Mountainside Stride in Chattanooga.Â
Starting on the women's side,
Emerson Tillery earned Runner of the Week distinction after finishing second with a 6k time of 19:58.1. She anchored the Scots to the team win and this award marks the second time in her career that she has earned this honor.
Lucie Demers won Rookie of the Week after an impressive debut where she finished seventh with a time of 25:20.7.Â
Ethan Saiki on the men's team earned Runner of the Week award as he posted a time of 19:58.1 in the 6k to finish second. Like Tillery, this is his second time winning this honor.
Trey Mortensen was named Rookie of the Week, finishing fourth with a time of 20:07.0 in his first college race. He was the second Covenant runner to cross the finish line.Â
Covenant returns to competition on September 12th at the UNG XC Invitational in Dahlonega, Georgia.Â
