LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant and Piedmont met for game two of the weekend and seemed to be in a pitcher's duel for the first four innings. However, the Piedmont bats woke up late in the game and scored 11 runs to clinch the series win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Both teams had base runners on in the first and second innings, however neither team could bring across a run.
- Jack Ryan gave the Lions the lead in the third inning with a two-out solo home run to left field.
- Piedmont had five runners cross home plate in the fifth inning with the help of an RBI double, an infield error, and a balk.
- The Lions went ahead 7-0 in the eighth inning with a 2-RBI single to right field.
- Piedmont scored four more runs in the ninth inning capped off by a 2-RBI single up the middle.
- Covenant's lone run came in the ninth inning as Josh McCaskill drove in Benjamin Johnson with an RBI single through the left side.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant moves to 15-24 all-time against Piedmont.
- RHP Scotty Smith (5 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 2 HBP) took the loss for Covenant on the mound while RHP Jake Schock (4 IP, 9 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 2 K, 1 HBP) pitched in relief.
- The Scots were outhit 16-4 by the Lions.
- Piedmont committed three errors while Covenant had two.
