ATLANTA, Ga. - The Collegiate Conference of the South released its Men's Tennis weekly award winners on Tuesday afternoon with Jackson Orsega earning Rookie of the Week honors for the first time in his young career.
The freshman from Sharpsburg, Georgia was a key player for the Scots as they picked up home victories over Brevard and Piedmont.Â
Pairing with senior Gill Dunn, Orsega was 2-0 in doubles. The duo manned the No. 2 slot against Brevard and took down Noah Lewis and Ethan McGee 6-4. Playing in the No. 3 position against Piedmont, Orsega and Dunn dominated Simon Johnstone and Amirjon Latipov 6-1.
In singles, Orsega was 1-1 with his victory coming in a tiebreak in the No. 3 slot against Ayden Montero of Brevard.
The Scots return to the court on Friday at Huntingdon as they will look to remain unbeaten in league play.Â
