SEWANEE, Tenn. - Covenant and Sewanee went head-to-head on Tuesday afternoon for the last of eight consecutive away games on the schedule for the Scots. A six-run fourth inning by the Tigers proved to be the deciding factor as they moved Covenant to under .500 for the first time all season.Â
Final: Covenant 1, Sewanee 10
Records: Covenant (12-13), Sewanee (16-11)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the second inning, Covenant attempted to score Cody Brewer from second base on a single to center field, however a perfectly executed outfield relay by the Tigers got him out at home plate.Â

- In the third inning, Covenant responded as Roby McClarnon blasted a solo shot to left field, his second of the year, to tie the game.Â
- Sewanee took back the lead in the third inning, scoring a run on a wild pitch.Â
- Pou led off the fourth inning for Sewanee with another home run, this one to center field to put the Tigers ahead 3-1.Â
- Six hits later in the inning allowed the Tigers to score five more runs and blow the game open.
- Covenant had a runner on third base with one out in the sixth inning, however a strikeout followed by a groundout allowed Sewanee to get out of the jam unscathed.Â
- A pair of RBI singles by the Tigers in the bottom of the frame allowed them to move ahead 10-1.
