The game opened with a tightly contested pace, as both teams shot the ball efficiently. Back-to-back three-pointers from Jake Stephens pushed the Scots ahead 23-20. Covenant later extended its advantage to seven when Fisher Mitchell connected from beyond the arc to make it 36-29. Berry responded with a late 10-2 surge, ultimately taking a 50-45 lead into halftime.
Berry carried its momentum into the second half, opening with a 9-2 run to build a 64-53 advantage with just under 14 minutes remaining. The Vikings maintained a double-digit lead for much of the half before breaking the game open with a decisive 9-0 spurt that extended the margin to 89-69 with five minutes to play. The Scots continued to battle, as Luuk Dusek and Logan Patterson provided a late offensive spark, but the rally fell short as Berry closed out a 97-88Â victory.
Covenant was led by Fisher Mitchell, who posted a career-high 20 points on 4-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc while adding four rebounds. Logan Patterson contributed 12 points and Luuk Dusek added 10, while Pierce Smith came close to a double-double with nine points and eight rebounds.
Berry held the edge in overall shooting, finishing at 47% (30-64) from the field compared to Covenant's 40% (27-67). Both teams were effective from three-point range, with the Scots hitting 36% (11-30) and the Vikings connecting on 33% (10-30). The statistical margins remained narrow across the board, as Berry posted a 44-42 advantage on the glass, and the turnover battle was nearly even with Covenant committing 15 and Berry 14.
