MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Covenant wrapped up conference play on Saturday with a CCS Tri-Match against Huntingdon and Agnes Scott. The Scots wasted no time in both matches, with two sweeps to secure a tied-second-place finish in the CCS Regular Season.Â
Game 1 Final: Covenant 3, Huntingdon 0
Records: Covenant (17-12, 12-3 CCS), Huntingdon (16-16, 7-8 CCS)
All three sets were very similar, with Covenant winning by four points (25-21), six points (25-19), and five points (25-20) in the sweep.Â
Trailing 21-20 in set one, the Scots rattled off five points in a row to move ahead 1-0. Huntingdon led by seven points in set three before Covenant came storming back.Â
In the team box score, Covenant dominated the attack with 42 kills to Huntingdon's 29. Assists were in the Scots' favor 41-22. Defensively, the Scots had eight blocks while the Hawks had four.
Cali Sandhoff had a double-double in the win with 15 assists and 10 kills, while Kinsley Dupree and Delaney Stirm each had 10 kills. Amber Snook was a key player in the attack with 20 assists.Â
Covenant is now 28-9 all-time against Huntingdon
Game 2 Final: Covenant 3, Agnes Scott 0
Records: Covenant (18-12, 13-3 CCS), Agnes Scott (0-17, 0-15 CCS)
Playing several different rotations of players, the Scots routed the Scotties in each of the three sets. Set one was 25-9, set two was 25-7, while set three ended 25-6.
Agnes Scott was outmatched in every statistical category.
- Kills: 33-5 Covenant
- Aces: 22-0 Covenant
- Assists: 27-5 Covenant
- Digs: 36-16 Covenant
Sparrow Sethman led Covenant with six kills. Ella Bailey and Lauren Niemeyer each had five kills. Once again, Sandhoff (13 assists, five kills) and Snook each contributed (eight assists, eight digs) to the victory.Â
Covenant remains unbeaten all-time against Agnes Scott with 33 wins.Â
