WILMORE, Ky. - Covenant and Asbury met on Wednesday night in a key CCS match late in the regular season. The Scots came into the game winners of eight in a row; however, the Eagles ended that run, as they swept the Scots.Â

Records: Covenant (14-11, 9-3 CCS), Asbury (15-7, 10-1 CCS)
Asbury scored the first five points of the match, but Covenant later responded with a 7-0 run on Henley Gentry's service rotation to go up 9-8. Asbury came through with another scoring run, this time six consecutive points to move back ahead 15-10. The Eagles continued to move forward as they won the first set 25-16.
Sets two and three were dominated by the Eagles as they won 25-13 and 25-12 to earn the sweep.Â
Asbury had the advantage offensively as it totaled 38 kills with a .408 hitting percentage while Covenant totaled 18 kills. At the net, Asbury tallied eight total blocks while Covenant had three.Â
Scarlett Martz led Covenant with five kills and a .333 hitting percentage.Â
Covenant moves to 7-5 all-time against Asbury.Â
