MARYVILLE, Tenn. - This morning Covenant took on Huntingdon, needing a win to keep its CCS Tournament dreams alive. The Scots jumped out in front early, but the Hawks ended the game strong with 11 runs in the final three innings to earn the win.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- A 2-RBI single from Zeke Gilbert with the bases loaded in the third inning put the Scots in front.Â
- The next batter was Harrison Adelgren, who delivered a RBI single to make it 3-0.Â
- Huntingdon got on the board in the fourth inning with a RBI groundout to second base.Â
- In the bottom of the frame, Kolby Kimberly made it 4-1 with a RBI double to left-center field.Â
- In the fifth inning, a RBI sacrifice fly from Sam Cecil that scored Gilbert put the Scots ahead 5-1.Â
- Five hits and two walks led to five runs for the Hawks in the seventh inning as they took the lead for the first time.Â
- Covenant immediately responded as a RBI single by Chris Savage in the seventh inning tied the game again.Â
- Covenant shot itself in the foot defensively in the eighth inning as three errors and three hits gave Huntingdon four runs and a 10-6 advantage.Â
- The Hawks added two more runs in the ninth inning via a RBI single and a RBI double.Â
- Covenant had two base hits in the ninth inning, but were unable to cut into the Huntingdon lead.Â
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant moves to 14-24 all-time against Huntingdon. Â
- Huntingdon outhit Covenant 13-11.
- Covenant committed three errors while Huntingdon had one.Â
- Kenny Mills led Covenant with three hits while Gilbert, Adelgren, and Savage each had two hits.Â
- RHP Scotty Smith (6.2 IP, 4 H, 5 ER, 4 BB, 5 K, 2 HBP) started for Covenant on the mound.Â
- RHP Jonathan Glover (0.2 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 2 ER, 1 K), RHP Aeden Beuning (0.2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 1 BB), and RHP Zach Tolleson (1 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 1 K) pitched in relief.Â
