DEMOREST, Ga. - The Scots ended the regular season with a road trip to Piedmont. Covenant was right there in the final minutes of the game, but fell just short 90-85.

Records: Covenant (4-21, 0-12 CCS), Piedmont (14-10, 5-6 CCS)
FIRST HALF:
- David Compere knocked down four 3-pointers in the first six minutes of the game to anchor a 12-8 Scots lead.
- Piedmont responded with a 14-0 run to put it ahead 22-12.
- On back-to-back possessions, Michael St. Germain buried a triple to put Covenant within six points at 27-21.
- A pair of inside baskets for the Lions pushed their lead back to 10 points with 3:57 remaining.
- Covenant and Piedmont traded baskets for five consecutive possessions down the court which kept Piedmont in front 40-30.
- The Lions extended their lead to 14 points before Luke Crowden banked in a deep 3-pointer at the buzzer to put the score at 44-33.
SECOND HALF:
- The Scots went on a 6-0 run, capped off by a Pierce Smith layup to cut the lead to 46-40 less than two minutes out of halftime.
- Compere and Luke Crowden each got triples to go down to keep Covenant within seven points with 13:42 remaining.
- Crowden buried another 3-pointer to cut the lead to five points at 59-54.
- Piedmont had an answer every time though as a triple midway through the half put it back up nine points.
- A rare 4-point play from Pearlman put Covenant down just three points at 69-66.
- The Lions responded with a 4-point play of their own to move their lead to 76-70 with 4:36 remaining.
- The Scots scored five consecutive points to put the score at 76-75.
- A 3-pointer for the Lions capped off a 7-2 run to put them on top 84-77 with just over a minute left in the game.
- Covenant knocked down two 3-pointers in the final 60 seconds, but Piedmont made enough free throws to close out the game.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant moves to 17-19 all-time against Piedmont.
- Compere scored 25 points with six made 3-pointers to lead Covenant offensively.
- Ryan Jolly for Piedmont led all scorers with 27 points on 9-of-12 shooting.
- Crowden (14 points), Gus Hood (12 points, six assists), and Pearlman (10 points, six rebounds) were also in double-figures scoring for the Scots.
- Covenant shot 41.3% (26-63) from the field while Piedmont ws 50.8% (32-63).
- The Scots made a season-high 15 3-pointers.
