LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant started its season on Friday night, hosting Warren Wilson in game one of Mountaintop Madness. After a neck-and-neck first 20 minutes, the Scots used a strong third quarter to earn an 18-point win.Â

FIRST QUARTER:
- With the help of two triples, the Owls scored the first eight points of the night.
- 3-pointers from Lucy Benson and Breezy Savage cut the lead to 10-6.
- Warren Wilson went on another 8-0 scoring run late in the quarter and saw itself ahead 18-10 after 10 minutes. Â
 SECOND QUARTER:
- Benson delivered five points in the opening two minutes as Covenant trailed 22-17.
- Covenant knocked down three triples on a 14-0 run to take a 28-22 lead.
- The Owls battled back to tie the game at 34 before two made free throws by Cair Canady right before the half put Covenant up two.
 THIRD QUARTER:
- Savage came out aggressive and scored the first five points out of halftime.Â
- The Scots got hot from downtown as Benson and Canady hit triples on consecutive possessions to make it a double-digit lead at 50-38.
- In her first college game, Ora Hall was a spark off the bench scoring 12 points in the quarter as Covenant led 69-43.
 FOURTH QUARTER:
- Hannah Eidson got her shot going, with a jumper and an inside bucket to put the score at 75-54.
- Faith Wasden and Emma Kaye Fuller got on the scoresheet with a pair of made free throws.
- Eidson scored two more baskets in the closing minute for the Scots as they won 87-69.
GAME NOTES:Â
- Covenant moves to 8-0 all-time against Warren Wilson.
- In the first game of her senior year, Savage led Covenant with a career-high 20 points and eight rebounds.
- Hall delivered 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting in just 14 minutes.Â
- Eidson (13 points), Benson (12 points), and Abby Witt (11 points) also were in double-figures scoring for Covenant.Â
- As a team, Covenant shot 44.8% (30-67) from the field and 50% (11-22) from the 3-point line while Warren Wilson was 34.9% (22-63) and 25% (4-16) in the same categories. Â
