LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Looking to avenge one of its two losses in conference play Covenant hosted Maryville. Just as they did in their first meeting the two teams went to four sets with Maryville earning the win and the season sweep.Ā

FIRST SET:
- The two teams were neck-and-neck early on as a Maryville attack error put the score tied at nine.Ā
- Maryville used a 5-0 run to gain some cushion at 16-11.
- The lead kept extending as a kill for Maryville ended the set at 25-15.Ā
SECOND SET:
THIRD SET:Ā
- Maryville raced out to a 9-4 lead before a 5-0 Covenant run tied it at nine.Ā
- The two teams kept going back-and-forth as the set was tied at 19.
- Maryville went on to score the next three points to be on the verge of another set win.Ā
- A kill from Sumrall sparkedĀ Covenant to eventually draw within one point at 24-23, but Maryville clutched up with a kill to end the set at 25-23.Ā
FOURTH SET:Ā
- Covenant drew itself a hole as Maryville went in front 13-7.
- A couple of kills by Hannah Mathis sparked a 4-0 run for Covenant to get within two points at 16-14.
- Covenant wouldn't draw any closer as a kill by Cailin Mastropasqua ended the set at 25-20 and the match.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant moves to 16-33 all-time against Maryville.
- The loss ends a 25-game home winning streak dating back to 2022 for Covenant.Ā
- Mathis led Covenant with 10 kills and six total blocks.Ā
- Sandhoff had a double-double with 13 digs and 12 assists.Ā
- Sumrall set a new career-high in kills with five.Ā
- Jennings tallied 26 digs in defense.Ā
