LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant hosted Belhaven for its only game of the week. Behind strong performances by Megan Rouse and Rilee Smith the Scots picked up their first conference win. 
Final: Covenant 66, Belhaven 53
Records: Covenant (4-9, 1-3 CCS), Belhaven (4-9, 3-2 CCS)
FIRST QUARTER:
	- Belhaven scored the first four points with a pair of made shots. 
 
	- Rouse got Covenant on the board with 5:39 remaining with an inside layup. 
 
	- Smith cut the lead to one point with a fast break basket. 
 
	- Smith scored Covenant's final points of the quarter with a layup as it trailed 7-6. 
 
 SECOND QUARTER:
	- With the Scots now down three points, Smith knocked down a triple to tie the game.
 
	- Smith responded with another 3-pointer to put Covenant ahead 12-9. 
 
	- Abby Witt converted a basket in transition to keep the Scots in front 16-13. 
 
	- In the final four minutes, Amanda Neff, Smith, and Lucy Benson all hit triples as Covenant led 27-21 at the intermission. 
 
 THIRD QUARTER:
	- Each team went scoreless for just over two minutes before Rouse made a basket inside the paint. 
 
	- Belhaven scored the next four points before Rouse hit a triple. 
 
	- Benson made a layup before Smith hit another 3-pointer to put the Covenant lead to double-digits at 40-30. 
 
	- The Blazers ended the quarter on a 6-0 run to get back within four points. 
 
 FOURTH QUARTER:
	- A quick start to the final quarter saw the Blazers come back to tie the game at 42 with 7:57 left. 
 
	- After going back up one point, the Scots went on a 11-0 run to move ahead by double-digits for good at 57-44. 
 
	- Rouse continued her great night offensively with a pair of made free throws and another bucket inside.
 
	- The Scots made four free throws down the stretch to close out a 66-53 victory. 
 
GAME NOTES: 
	- Covenant moves to 2-4 all-time against Belhaven.
 
	- Rouse flirted with a triple-double with 18 points, nine rebounds, and a career-high seven blocks. 
 
	- Smith posted a career-high 18 points with four made 3-pointers. 
 
	- Breezy Savage was also in double-figures with 13 points. 
 
	- Covenant shot 39.7% (23-58) from the field while Belhaven was 30.3% (20-66) shooting. 
 
	- The Scots tied a season high in 3-pointers made with 11. 
 
UP NEXT: Covenant travels to Piedmont for another CCS game on Tuesday, January 16th. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
