LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Scots began their first of three games this weekend in Lexington with a match against Muskingum. Covenant took care of business and picked up its third 3-0 sweep of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
- The Scots came out hot in the first set taking an early 9-1 lead, behind strong serving periods from Sarah Jennings and Rachel Bartlett.
- The Muskies scrapped their way back into the set slowly and surely, eventually tying the set at 23.Â
- Covenant needed 26 points, but eventually claimed the first set behind a kill from Emma Kalbfleisch and an attack error from Muskingum.
- In the second set, Covenant scored the first three points with help from kills by Kyla Bailey and Kalbfleisch.
- After setting the tone early on in the second set, the Scots and Muskies went back-and-forth with Covenant clinging onto an 18-15 advantage.Â
- However, Covenant ended the second set similarly to how it started it with a 4-0 run, which began with a kill from the setter, Bartlett, to win 25-18.Â
- Muskingum found some rhythm in the third set, as it jumped out to a 13-6 lead.
- An 8-1 run for the Scots with the help of five attack errors, tied the set at 14.Â
- Covenant finished the set on a 6-0 run to win 25-19. The run started and ended with kills from Reagan Keener.Â
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant moves to 1-0 all-time against Muskingum.
- The Scots are off to their best start to a season since 2014.Â
- Bailey had 14 kills and 14 digs to lead Covenant in both categories.Â
- Kalbfleisch had six blocks on the night, which is a season-high.
- Bartlett and Keener each had three blocks.Â
