BEREA, Ky. - Covenant began its CCS schedule with a trip to Berea. The Scots took care of business by sweeping the Mountaineers.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
- Covenant struggled early on in the first set, trailing 12-7.
- Five consecutive points later on Kyla Bailey's service rotation, the Scots tied it up at 12.
- Another great service run, this time from Emma Kalbfleisch gave Covenant a 19-15 advantage.
- Kills from Hannah Haerer and Cali Sandhoff at the end of the first set helped Covenant win 25-19
- The Scots started the second set better than the first as they took a 7-3 lead, highlighted by kills from Haerer and Kalbfleisch, and a service ace from Kalbfleisch.
- Covenant continued to extend its lead to 18-8, capitalizing on several attack errors from Berea.
- Bailey closed out the set 25-14 with a kill assisted by Rachel Bartlett.Â
- The Scots and Mountaineers were neck-and-neck at the beginning of the third set with the score at tied at nine.
- A 6-1 run from Covenant gave it a 18-13 lead and the cushion it needed to close out the match.Â
- Back-to-back kills from Kelsey Carman ended the set at 25-17 and gave the Scots the sweep.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant moves to 14-1 all-time against Berea.
- Kalbfleisch led Covenant with 10 kills. She also had four blocks and two aces.
- Sarah Jennings tallied 12 digs.Â
- Bartlett, the defending CCS Player of the Week, dished out 27 assists.
- Haerer, the reigning CCS Defensive Player of the Week, continued to be active around the net with six blocks. Â
UP NEXT: The Scots welcome Huntingdon and Agnes Scott to Lookout Mountain on Saturday for a tri-match. Game one is scheduled for 12 p.m.Â
