LAGRANGE, Ga. - Covenant traveled to its in-state rival, LaGrange, for its CCS opener. The Scots kept their second consecutive clean sheet and defeated the Panthers 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Reece Black put a shot on net for the Scots in the 16th minute, however, it was saved at the bottom left of the goal.
- Lila Wiley a few minutes later, had an opportunity at goal, but once again the shot was stopped.
- The Panthers had a look to score in the 36th minute, but Lucy Sandhoff delivered with a save on the top right of the goal.
- At the break, Covenant had eight shots while LaGrange had four.
- In the 48th minute, Rachel Wall gave the Scots the lead with a clinical chip over the goalie's head.
- The Scots had three shots in the next three minutes, but none could find the back of the net.
- Riley Amell had her shot saved in the 73rd minute which led to a corner kick. On the ensuing corner, T Herring put a shot on goal, however, her shot was saved too.
- Sandhoff made her final save in the 86th minute to all but secure the win.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant moves to 16-0-2 all-time against LaGrange.
- The Scots had 16 shots with 12 on goal while LaGrange had five shots with four on goal.
- LaGrange had seven corner kicks and Covenant had five.
- The Panthers had the higher foul count, 9-6.
