LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - For its second game in as many days, Covenant battled Asbury in the Mountaintop Madness. The Scots couldn't quite find enough offensive rhythm to take down its future CCS foe, falling 52-44.Â

FIRST QUARTER:
- Breezy Savage hit a 3-pointer with 6:13 remaining, which was the first made shot from the field for either team.Â
- The Eagles responded with a 3-pointer and a made jumper to move ahead 6-3.Â
- Now trailing by seven, Lucy Benson got a layup to go right before the buzzer to cut the Asbury lead to 10-5.
 SECOND QUARTER:
- Asbury started the quarter on a 9-0 scoring run to take a 14 point lead.Â
- Abby Witt knocked down a jumper to end the run to make it 19-7.Â
- Back-to-back triples on consecutive possessions by Lucy Benson and Rilee Smith cut the lead to 22-13 with 1:06 remaining.
- The Eagles scored five points in the final minute, including a 3-pointer just a few seconds before the halftime buzzer to move ahead 27-13. Â
 THIRD QUARTER:
- On Covenant's first possession, Benson made a layup while being fouled then made the free throw to get her team back within 11 points.Â
- A 7-0 run for the Eagles extended their lead to 18 before a 3-pointer from Benson put the score at 34-19.Â
- An Ella Grace Squires basket inside cut the lead to 35-23 with 2:39 remaining.Â
- Savage had the final basket of the quarter, a 3-pointer to get the Scots to within nine points going into the fourth quarter.Â
 FOURTH QUARTER:
- After getting a defensive stop on the opening possession, Covenant kept inching closer with a basket by Karis McIntosh.
- The Eagles responded with a 10-1 scoring run to move ahead 45-29.Â
- The Scots didn't quit as two triples from McIntosh and a triple from Benson cut the lead back to nine points with 1:36 left.Â
- Covenant got it to as close as seven points on a pair of made free throws by Savage, but it was too little too late.Â
GAME NOTES:Â
- Covenant drops to 0-2 all-time against Asbury.
- Benson scored 14 points and brought down six rebounds to lead the Scots.Â
- McIntosh had 11 points with three made triples.Â
- Each team was 28% from the field shooting.Â
- Covenant had 24 turnovers while Asbury had only 10.Â
- 52 points is the lowest point total Covenant has allowed in a game this season.Â
