SEWANEE, Tenn. - For its second game of the weekend, Covenant took on Sewanee on the road. The Tigers proved to be too much for the Scots, as Covenant was defeated by 20 points.Â

FIRST QUARTER:
- Sewanee raced out to a 5-0 lead behind a layup and a 3-pointer.
- A couple of triples from Karis McIntosh and Amanda Neff got Covenant on the board as it trailed 10-6.
- The Scots went scoreless for almost six minutes before Abby Witt hit a 3-pointer with 1:40 remaining.Â
- Sewanee scored the final points of the quarter with an inside bucket to take a 17-11 lead.Â
 SECOND QUARTER:
- The Tigers scored the first six points of the quarter to push their lead to double digits at 23-11.
- A layup from Megan Rouse sparked a 7-0 run for the Scots to cut the Tigers lead to 23-18.Â
- Sewanee responded with a 9-0 run to extend its lead to 14 points.Â
- McIntosh hit a 3-pointer before Sewanee hit a layup right before the halftime buzzer to take a 34-21 lead into the locker room.Â
 THIRD QUARTER:
- McIntosh made Covenant's first shot of the third quarter from behind the arc to put it within 10 points.Â
- Lucy Benson got the Scots back within single digits at 36-27 with an inside basket.Â
- Witt hit another 3-pointer for Covenant with 1:23 remaining as it trailed 42-32.
- Breezy Savage delivered with the final points of the quarter to keep the Scots down just 10.Â
 FOURTH QUARTER:
- Neff hit a layup to cut the lead to 45-36, but this would turn out to be the last time the Scots were within single digits.Â
- An inside bucket and a pair of free throws pushed the Sewanee lead to 14.Â
- A 3-pointer and one made free throw put the lead at 20 and out of reach with 2:56 remaining.Â
- McIntosh scored her final basket with a layup but it was too little too late.Â
GAME NOTES:Â
- Covenant drops to 20-18 all-time against Sewanee.Â
- McIntosh was the only Covenant player in double-figures with 16 points on four made 3-pointers.Â
- Benson had a team-high seven rebounds.Â
- Covenant was 38.2% (13-34) from the field while Sewanee was 42.6% (23-54).
- The Scots had 27 turnovers and forced 14 Sewanee turnovers.Â
UP NEXT: Covenant travels to Fairbanks, Alaska for a pair of exhibitions at the North Star Invitational over Thanksgiving. Its first game is against Multnomah on Nov. 24.Â
