LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - For its home opener, Covenant welcomed Warren Wilson to Barnes P.E. Center for an afternoon battle. The Scots led from start to finish to get in the win column for the 2023-24 season.

FIRST QUARTER:
- Layups from Lucy Benson and Karis McIntosh inside the first two minutes pushed the Scots ahead 4-0.
- McIntosh drilled a triple and made another layup to give Covenant a 9-2 advantage.
- Tatyana Lewis found her shot with two made jumpers for Warren Wilson to keep them within seven points at 15-8.
- Abby Witt knocked down two free throws and Rilee Smith hit one in the final 1:30 of the quarter as the Scots led 18-10.
SECOND QUARTER:
- After a couple of missed shots and turnovers early on from Covenant, Benson hit a 3-pointer to give it a 21-12 lead.
- Midway through the quarter, Benson delivered with another 3-pointer to put the Scots ahead 26-13.
- The Owls slowly got back into the game as a 5-0 run cut the lead to six points.
- Covenant scored the final six points of the quarter to go into the locker room with a 35-23 lead.
THIRD QUARTER:
- With a free throw and a 3-pointer, McIntosh had Covenant's first four points in the quarter.
- A 7-0 run highlighted by a 3-pointer and an inside bucket from Witt pushed the Scots lead to 46-29.
- Benson capped off the quarter with an old-fashioned 3-point play that saw her team take a 51-29 lead into the final quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- The Covenant defense held Warren Wilson scoreless for the first 4:41 of the quarter.
- Amanda Neff buried a triple for Covenant to put the score a 65-33 with 4:19 remaining.
- Hannah Eidson capped off the win for the Scots, drilling a 3-pointer with just over a minute left in the game.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant moves to 7-0 all-time against Warren Wilson.
- McIntosh was the leading scorer with 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting..
- Witt posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds while Benson was right behind her with 13 points and nine rebounds.
- Covenant was 41.2% (21-51) shooting and 31.3% (10-32) from the 3-point line.
- The Scots outrebounded the Owls 50-33.
- The result marks the first win as a Head Coach for Kyle Yost, who is in his first season with Covenant.
