ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. -- The Covenant women's tennis team dropped a 5-4 match to Ohio Northern on Monday afternoon and then saw its contest with Saint Mary's (Ind.) suspended due to rain in the evening.
Covenant (4-5) and Saint Mary's look to pick up their match on Tuesday.
In Monday's loss to Ohio Northern, the teams battled throughout the contest. The Polar Bears took a 2-1 lead after doubles, despite Covenant's
Madelyn Savage and
Gillian Bosko earning an 8-7(5) win over Olivia Kesner and Miranda Wills at the top flight.
In singles, Savage and Bosko held down the top two flights. Savage took a 6-4, 6-3 win over Kesner at No.1 while Bosko was a 6-0, 1-6, 1-0 (10-3) winner over Victoria Santana at No. 2.
Lauren Carr defeated Wills 7-5, 6-0 at No. 3, but Ohio Northern took the final three flights to earn the win.
Before the rain hit on Monday night, Covenant held a 2-1 lead at the conclusion of doubles play. The teams are tentatively scheduled to finish the match at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
UP NEXT
Covenant is scheduled to face Marywood and Otterbein on Tuesday, in addition to the completion of the Saint Mary's match.
