LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Covenant men's basketball team picked up another big conference win on Monday evening as they soundly defeated the visiting Mountaineers, 93-62.

The Scots had another big shooting night, shooting at 57.8 percent from the floor (37-of-64) and knocking down 13 3-pointers (13-of-29, 44.8 percent).

Five of those triples came off the hands of Myles Jones, who finished the night with a season-high 25 points. Jones went 10-for-14 from the floor and 5-for-8 from behind-the-arc.

Three other Scots recorded double-figures in the win. Will Crumly and Jonathan Gernatt both contributed 16 points, while Brady Palmer added 13. 

Covenant stepped on the gas early, as Berea was never allowed the lead during the contest. The Scots shot nearly 65 percent from the floor (20-of-31) and 61.54 percent from 3-point land during the first half (8-of-13), allowing them to gain a 17 point lead going into the half (48-31).

During the rally, Jones went a perfect 3-for-3 from downtown and 5-for-6 from the floor.

And the Scots picked up right where they left off in the second half.

Covenant would knock down another five 3-pointers during the period and gain their largest lead of 37 points with just over four minutes left to play in the contest (93-56).

A 3-pointer and some free throws for Berea would allow them to cut the lead slightly during the last remaining minutes, resulting in a 93-62 Scots victory.

The Mountaineers were led by Jarel Montgomery who had 12 points. Isaac Caudill and Kevion Hudson both added 10.

Covenant improves to 7-2 in conference play (12-6 overall), while Berea falls to 2-7 (6-14 overall).
