LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The No. 1 West seeded Covenant men's basketball team is set to host No. 4 West seed Brevard in the first round of the USA South Tournament on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. inside Barnes PE Center.
Tuesday's winner moves on to the semifinals on Friday to face either No. 2 East seed N.C. Wesleyan or No. 3 East seed Pfeiffer. A Covenant win would put the semifinals and championship on Lookout Mountain this weekend.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
- Covenant (16-6, 10-2 USA South) closed out the regular season winning seven consecutive games, capped by an impressive 73-52 win over No. 14 Maryville on Saturday.
- Brevard (8-15, 5-7 USA South) wrapped up the regular season on Saturday with an 81-71 loss to LaGrange.Â
- Covenant and Brevard met twice during the season, with the Scots sweeping the Tornados. Covenant won 86-54 on Jan. 18 at home before taking an 83-58 win at Brevard on Feb. 12. The all-time series between the programs is tied at 11-11, with Covenant winning 10 of the last 11 overall.
- Covenant is making its eighth appearance in the USA South Tournament. The Scots won the title in 2016 and are 7-6 all-time in the tournament. In the full tournament format, the Scots have made at least the semifinals in each of the last three tournaments.
- Brevard is making its first appearance in the USA South Tournament.
- Covenant graduate student Will Crumly surpassed 2,000 career points in Saturday's win over No. 14 Maryville with his 20 points. Crumly is the fourth player in program history to achieve the feat and enters the tournament with 2,013 career points. The forward is averaging 16.9 points, 7.9 rebounds (third in the USA South) and shooting 59.7 percent from the field for the season.
- Senior Chris Barnette has also been huge for the Scots all season. Barnette averaged 17.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game last week and is averaging 14.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game (second in the USA South).
- Covenant's seven-game win streak is the longest since 2018-19 and the Scots last won eight straight in the 2017-18 season.
