LAGRANGE, Ga. -- The Covenant women's tennis team got back into the win column in convincing fashion with an 8-1 victory at LaGrange on Saturday afternoon at the Greer Tennis Courts.
It was the USA South opener for both teams. Covenant improves to 4-2 on the year, while LaGrange drops to 0-3. The Scots are now 9-2 all-time against LaGrange.
Covenant seized control of the match early with a trio of doubles victories. Gillian Bosko and Madelyn Savage, the reigning USA South Doubles Team of the Week, handled LaGrange's Nicole Phillips and Madison Kady with an 8-1 victory at the top flight.
At No. 2, Nicole Restrepo and Mariah Westra were 8-4 winners over Callaway Cook and Sydney Tyler, while Laney Beckwith and Dani Rappuhn won 8-4 against Hannah Miller and Makayla Red at the third spot.
Few points were dropped in Covenant's wins in singles play. Savage took down Phillips 6-0, 6-1 at the top position and Bosko was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at No. 2.
Restrepo completed her perfect day with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Cook at No. 3. Kacey Melton worked past Tyler by a 6-2, 6-0 score and Anna Logan completed the win with her 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 6 over Miller.
