LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The Covenant men's tennis team saw its five-match win streak come to an end with a 9-0 loss at No. 21-ranked Sewanee on Wednesday inside the Charlotte Guerry Courts.
Covenant, which had not lost since Feb. 23, drops to 7-4 overall. Sewanee, ranked No. 21 in the current ITA rankings, improved to 5-6.
The Scots battled in doubles play but came up empty in three matches. Ethan Gibson and Gill Dunn hung right with Sewanee's No. 2 duo of Peyton Erck and Jax Harbour before falling 8-5. Paxton Haggerty and Chris Morton fell, 8-4, at No. 3 while Austin Dreslinski and Solomon Crouch dropped an 8-2 decision at No. 1.
Sewanee then closed out the match with wins at all six singles spots.
MATCHES ADDED
Announced earlier on Wednesday, Covenant has added two road matches in April. The Scots will travel to Transylvania on April 13 and then go to Division I neighbor Chattanooga for a regular season contest on April 20.

The Scots get back into USA South play on Friday at Brevard. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m.
