LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The Covenant women's tennis team won three tiebreaks and outlasted visiting Greenville, 7-2, on a chilly Friday afternoon-turned-evening at the Covenant Tennis Complex.
Covenant (6-2) has won three straight matches.
In a match that saw five tiebreaks, Covenant won three of those to pick up the win. The Scots took all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead before Gillian Bosko's win at No. 2 sealed the victory.
In doubles, Madelyn Savage and Bosko took an 8-3 win over Greenville's Addison Brannon and Mireia Birosta at the top flight. Laney Beckwith and Dani Rappuhn combined for an 8-5 win at the No. 3 spot to make it 2-0. Mariah Westra and Kacey Melton slipped past Emily Buratovich and Shaling Reynolds 8-7(6) to complete the doubles sweep.
Melton then notched a 6-1, 6-1 win at the No. 3 spot in singles over Claudia Principal to give the Scots a 4-0 lead. Bosko clinched the match with her three-set 6-1, 4-6, 10-7 victory at No. 2 over Brannon.
Rappuhn and Beckwith also picked up wins in singles play for the final Scots points. Rappuhn took a 6-4, 1-6, 10-6 win over Reynolds, while Beckwith was a 6-3, 6-2 winner over Buratovich.
Birosta and Samantha Siefken collected singles wins at No. 1 and No. 6, respectively, for Greenville (3-2).
