BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Covenant women's tennis team fell for the first time all season with a 9-0 loss at region foe Birmingham Southern on Saturday at the Dielan Tennis Complex in Birmingham.
Covenant, which was off to its first 3-0 start in program history, is now 3-1 overall.
Birmingham Southern (3-1) swept through doubles play to take a 3-0 match lead. Madelyn Savage and Gillian Bosko hung tough at the No. 1 spot with BSC's Ansley Turley and Maddi Stewart before falling, 8-4.
In singles play, Savage took Alyssa Yager to three sets but fell 2-6, 6-3, 10-4 at the top flight. Birmingham Southern completed the win with straight-set victories down the lineup.

Covenant will travel to Berry on Tuesday. Match time is slated for 3 p.m.
