Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Scots Dominate Agnes Scott in 117-29 Victory

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- The Covenant women's basketball team cruised by Agnes Scott in tonight's impressive 117-29 win. The 117 points ties the school record for points scored in a game, originally set back in 1991. The 88 point margin of victory is the second-largest in program history.

The Scots knocked down 49 field goals and recorded 29 steals during the contest, which ties the school records in both categories. Covenant shot 56.3 percent from the floor (49-of-87) and hit 12 3-pointers on the night, shooting at over 35 percent from behind the arc.

Every Scot that played scored, and six players scored in double figures.

Madison Blevins led all scorers with her career-high 19 points and nine steals. Cosette Kirsch had another stat-stuffing night with 17 points, five steals, and six assists. Karis McIntosh also set a new career high with her 16 points and nine assists.

Naomi Crumley scored 16 points, alongside Elissa Moore's 12 points and five steals. Sophomore Ruthie Moore added 10 points.

Covenant also dominated on the defensive end, forcing 43 turnovers.

The win today makes it 11 wins in a row over the Scotties and drops their record to 0-10. The Scots improve to 4-13 and get their third USA South victory.

Shay Sweat led Agnes Scott with nine points. Musumaulai Galoia led the team in rebounds with eight.

SENIOR DAY SPOTLIGHT

Today was Senior Day for Hannah Monday

A 5-foot-11 forward from Dade County, Monday is the only senior on the team this year. Though her senior year of competition was cut short due to an ACL injury, Monday has remained a constant source of leadership and encouragement. During the 2019-2020 season, she led the team in scoring (12.8 PPG) and rebounding (7.7 RPG). She recorded six double-doubles on the year to help Covenant reach the USA South Tournament.

Monday was also honored as a member of the USA South All-West Division first team, making her the first player to garner those honors since Covenant joined the USA South. She will be greatly missed on the mountain.

UP NEXT

Covenant will finish out the series at Agnes Scott on Saturday, February 13 in Decatur, Ga. Tip-off is scheduled for 2pm EST.
