LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The Covenant men's basketball team's trip to the Cregger Invitational in Salem, Va., this week has been adjusted. The Scots are now slated to play Roanoke on Dec. 29 and Buena Vista on Dec. 30. Both games are set for 2 p.m. start times.
The changes come as two teams had to pull out of the invitational. Buena Vista was added to the invitational on Tuesday after having its games at the Johns Hopkins Tournament this week canceled.
Covenant (6-2, 1-0 USA South) last played on Dec. 18 in an exhibition loss at Division I foe Georgia Southern. The Scots have won two straight regular season games, with the last coming in a 79-64 win at Huntingdon on Dec. 11.
Roanoke (7-2, 1-1 ODAC), ranked No. 10 in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25, has been ranked all season. The Maroons topped out at No. 9 in the national poll earlier this year.
It will be just the second meeting all-time between Covenant and Roanoke. In the first matchup in 2011, Roanoke won 81-63.
Buena Vista (4-7, 2-2 American Rivers) last played on Dec. 11 in a 64-46 win over Luther. Covenant and Buena Vista have never met in men's basketball.
