CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- The Covenant women's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw with Brevard on Saturday afternoon's Homecoming match at David Stanton Field on the campus of Chattanooga Christian School.
The USA South matchup was originally scheduled for Scotland Yard, but field conditions due to weather caused it to be moved to Chattanooga Christian School.Â
The tie extended Covenant's unbeaten streak to seven. It was also the fifth straight shutout produced by the Covenant defense, the longest streak since 2016.
Covenant had chances to score throughout the match, outshooting the visiting Tornados 14-4Â in the contest. Covenant's defense was also able to hold Brevard to just two shots on goal.
Covenant had many close opportunities, including a shot by Rachel Wall with one second left in regulation that just missed over the crossbar.Â
The Scots also got three more shots off during both overtime periods, but were ultimately unable to capitalize, resulting in the 0-0 conference draw.
Covenant was led by Kailey Burrell's four shots. Aiden Strawbridge and Wall both tallied three shots, while Mae Pierce added two.Â
Lucy Sandhoff played the entire game in the goal for the Scots, earning two saves.
Alyssa Hetherington led Brevard with three shots, two of which were on goal. Autumn Wright tallied one.Â
Rebeccah Rojas also played the entire match in the net for the Tornados and recorded three saves.
The Scots now sit at 7-4-2 overall (3-0-1 USA South), while Brevard is 5-5-3 (3-1-1 USA South).
