LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The Covenant women's soccer team took down Oglethorpe, 3-0, on Monday night from Scotland Yard.
The win marks the fifth straight time the Lady Scots have defeated Oglethorpe in the all-time series.
After a scoreless first half where Covenant (3-4-1) outshot the Stormy Petrels, 7-2, the Lady Scots came out firing in the second half.
Sarah Agee played a ball forward that brought the Petrel keeper off her line. Kailey Burrel applied the pressure and was able to head it up and over for her third goal of the season just under six minutes into the half.
In the 75th minute, the Lady Scots took advantage of a deep throw-in. Addy Cronan found the foot of Elsa Woody who crossed it just outside of the six-yard box that found the right foot of Anna Robertson who tapped it in for her third goal of the season.
In the waning minutes, Burrell found herself in the box and was able to slide the ball to the penalty marker to Kyra Duble who put it away for her fifth goal of the season in the 88th minute to take the match 3-0.
Lucy Sandhoff picked up her third career shutout with three saves on four Oglethorpe (7-2-0) shots.
The Lady Scots were able to outshoot the Petrels 16-4 (6-3 on goal), and have six (9-3) more corner kicks while holding a firm 69-31 percent advantage in possession on the match.
Lindsey Bolas got the start in goal for Oglethorpe, stopping six shots while allowing three goals.
