CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- The Covenant men's tennis team fell to regional power Birmingham Southern 8-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Racquet Club of Chattanooga.
Covenant drops to 0-3 on the year, while Birmingham Southern improves to 3-0.
Matthew Harvie collected the lone point for the Scots as he bested the Panthers' Alex Makarenko in three sets at the No. 1 singles position. Harvie dropped the first set 6-4, but rallied to win set two 7-6 (4) before taking the third 10-6.
Harvie and Chris Cox battled hard at the No. 1 double spot, but ultimately fell 9-8 (1) to Makarenko and Patrick Hire.
