MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Annie DeLuca, Lindsay Geving and Gracie Smith all took singles and doubles wins to lead the Covenant women's tennis team to a 6-3 victory over previously-unbeaten Huntingdon on Friday afternoon.

The win moves Covenant to 9-5 overall and 6-2 inside the USA South and places the Lady Scots firmly in fourth in the conference standings. Huntingdon drops to 8-1 on the year and 7-1 in league play.

DeLuca and Geving combined for an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles while Smith and Jennie Spielman took an 8-3 win at the No. 3 doubles spot to help Covenant to a 2-1 lead after the doubles round.

In singles play, Covenant would take matches at the Nos. 2 through 5 spots to secure the victory. Claire Luger bested Sarah Warren 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2, while Smith had no trouble at the No. 4 spot with her 6-3, 6-1 victory over Sara Duran. DeLuca went into a tiebreak in her first set but came out victorious 7-6 (1), 6-1. Geving notched a three-set win 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 over Tara-Beth Hall. Geving's win marked the second time in as many seasons she has defeated Hall in three sets.

Covenant will be back on the courts on Tuesday in the final home match of the year. The Lady Scots host Piedmont starting at 3:30 p.m. Senior Day activities will take place during the day.
