LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- 12 different Covenant women's basketball players scored as the Lady Scots won their second consecutive game with a 78-40 thumping of visiting Toccoa Falls on Thursday night inside Barnes Physical Education Center.
The win moves Covenant above .500 at 9-8 for the season.
Haley Soles paced Covenant with 13 points, 10 of which came in the first half, on the strength of three 3-pointers. Jessie Blankenship added 12 points and Terah Hooper scored 11 points off the bench. Ruth Gibson grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds to go along with seven points, while Kiaira Cooper dished out seven assists and had four steals.
After falling behind 2-0 in the first minute of play, Covenant rattled off 21 consecutive points that was capped by a steal and layup from Soles. The Lady Scots shot 47.2 percent in the first half en route to a 37-16 halftime lead.
It was more of the same in the second half as Covenant would lead by as many as 38 points late in the game.
With the game mostly in hand in the first half, Covenant was able to empty its bench as all 13 players that dressed played in the opening period. For the game, 12 of the 13 made the scoring column, with Elizabeth Bell being the only exception. Bell did grab three rebounds and had a steal. Lindsay Geving scored her first points of the season as she totaled five on the night. Jess Fikkert and Beka Saylor chipped in six and four points, respectively.
Toccoa Falls (2-14) was led by Olivia Edmundson's nine points. The Lady Eagles shot just 22.2 percent in the first and 30.8 percent (16-52) for the contest.
Covenant had a season-high 24 assists on 33 made field goals. The Lady Scots also outrebounded Toccoa Falls 45-36 on the night.
Covenant will travel to Macon, Ga., on Saturday to take on GSAC foe Wesleyan at 4 p.m. The Lady Scots defeated Wesleyan 64-48 at home on Jan. 5.
