Greenville S.C. -- Freshman David Lockwood has been named the national baseball player of the week, announced the NCCAA on Tuesday. David represents the 10th Scot to receive the award this year and the first among members of the Covenant baseball team.
Lockwood boosted his batting average to .313 after going 8-for-10 over the course of 3 games last week. He added 5 RBIs and 5 runs scored to his season tallies while swiping 4 bases and adding 3 doubles to his season count of 8. Lockwood went 4-for-4 against the number 10 team in the nation, helping the Scots to an 11-9 victory, then finished the week with 4 more hits in a double-header against the Crusaders of TN-Temple.
