Franklin Springs, GA - The Scots went into the bottom of the sixth inning deadlocked at three with the Emmanuel College Lions, but lost after the Lions scored four in the inning. Covenant came back with two of their own in the top of the seventh, but it wasn't enough as they ultimately lost by a score of 7-5.
Despite the loss, several Scots had productive offensive days. Leadoff hitter Sam Hogan finished 2-4 with an RBI; Harrison Fisher went 2-3 with two runs scored and an RBI; Blaine Newton went 2-4 with an RBI and a stolen base while Jason Pope, who also stole a base, went 1-2 with two runs scored.
Starter Demarius Johnson was effective, pitching three and a third innings while giving up two unearned runs and striking out three before freshman Michael Risko came in and gave up five earned runs in just one and two-thirds innings, picking up the loss. He struck out two batters but walked three.
The Scots have hit a skid and are now 2-6 after losing four games in a row. They will look to turn things around when they take on Berry College in a doubleheader on Tuesday, February 24th.
