Lookout Mountain, GA - Seniors Liz Martin and Natalea Gulyas, along with freshman Ashley Wilson, all scored at least twenty points in Wednesday night's game against the Lady Cavaliers of the University of Virginia at Wise, leading Covenant to a 91-69 victory.
Martin scored 21 to go with four rebounds and eleven assists, notching her first double-double of the season while Wilson also scored 21, making five of ten three-point attempts. Gulyas scored twenty for the second straight game, grabbing seven rebounds and picking up two steals in the process.
Margaret Cross tied a season-high with twelve points and Hannah Craft grabbed eleven rebounds while scoring seven points and coming up with three steals.
The Lady Scots did well as a team Wednesday, making 78% (18-23) of their free-throw attempts and scoring a whopping 59 points in the first half of the game. They have now won four straight games since falling to 12-12 overall and 6-7 in conference after a loss to Milligan College on February 4th.
Covenant is now 16-12 with a 10-7 record in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. They will take on Bluefield College on Saturday, February 21st in their final game of the regular season before participating in the conference tournament beginning Wednesday, February 25th.
