Lookout Mountain, GA- The Covenant College Lady Scots took Scotland Yard on Saturday hoping to send their seniors out on a high note with a victory over visiting Berry College. Jenny Carter, Joy Cain, Annette McKerihan, Leigh Graham, Anna Lueck, Becky Galage, and Sarah Williams would all be playing in their last regular season home match, and each was hoping for a Covenant win. Unfortunately, Berry was there to spoil the moment, converting via a Paige Banham goal in just the 3rd minute for a 1-0 lead that they would not relinquish. Indeed, for a majority of the game it was the visiting Vikings who mounted the pressure, outshooting Covenant 14-5 en-route to victory. Defenders Joy Cain and Caitlin Ezell were the only two Scots to put a shot on target all game as the offense struggled to find momentum.
With the loss, the Lady Scots now move to 6-8-3 on the season, and will hope to start stringing the wins together as they enter NCCAA post-season play later this November.
