Marrietta, GA - The Scots, still suffering from multiple injuries, managed a tie with Southern Polytechnic University this afternoon in Marrietta. Scoring with less than a minute left in regulation, Covenant was able to escape defeat at the hands of the Hornets, who are now 3-1-1 on the year. Sophomore forward Julian Allgeier scored the game-tying goal for the Scots with 45 seconds left, sending the game into overtime. And while both teams had their chances in OT, neither team was able to convert. The tie gives Covenant a record of 1-2-2 overall, with a conference record of 1-0. After the match, head coach John Miglarese commented, ""I am really proud of how we battled today. Considering how many players are out with injury right now, we still managed to play pretty well...SPSU is a good team and this game will prepare us for our tough conference schedule next week." That conference schedule, consisting of three games in eight days, begins with a match versus Milligan College this Saturday, September 20 at 4:00 PM in Johnson City, TN.
