Lookout Mountain, GA - The Lady Scots opened their season at home this evening against the Lady Crusaders of Tennessee Temple University. A closely contested game throughout, the teams went back and forth all night, trading the lead multiple times before Temple was able to pull away in the final minutes and seal the win by a score of 74-67.
Senior guard Liz Martin led the Lady Scots individually, playing all forty minutes and scoring sixteen points and dishing out six assists while picking up six steals on the defensive end. Junior forward Erika Forland had a good all-around game, contributing with eight points, eight rebounds and four blocks. Freshman guard Kayla Sanders had fourteen points and five rebounds while sophomore forward DeDe Walls had a great game on the boards, finishing with ten rebounds.
The Lady Scots will try again for their first win of the season when they take on Oakwood University at home on Thursday, October 30th at 8:00 PM.
