Lookout Mountain, GA - The Scots won their second straight match Saturday afternoon by defeating visiting Asbury College. Now 2-0 since ending conference play, Covenant is now 8-6-2 overall on the season including five wins in their last six matches and look strong heading into postseason play.
The scoring in the match came early, but certainly not often. Despite managing 27 shots to Asbury's nine, the Scots found the back of the net just once. It proved to be enough however, as sophomore forward Julian Allgeier scored in the 7th minute for the Scots, giving him a goal in each of the last two matches; both, coincidentally, game-winners. Freshman goalkeeper John Eger had another great match, racking up four saves in the shutout.
Covenant will be on the road for their next match, the final regular-season match of the season, as they travel to Rome, GA to take on Berry College at 4:30 PM on Tuesday, October 28th.
